We’re big fans of seniors around here, both pets and people. And because we believe that having a dog or cat in your life is beneficial to your health, no matter what your age, we encourage seniors to adopt from Young at Heart. And unlike most traditional adoption programs, you are never “too old” to adopt from Young at Heart. If you can physically and financially care for a pet, fill out our adoption application today. We will help match you to a pet that is appropriate for your lifestyle, providing you with a four-legged buddy that enjoys your company just as much as you enjoy his (or hers!).
If you are age 65 or older, we will waive the fee for any of our cats or dogs over age 10. We only require that you have a friend, neighbor, or family member “co-sign” on the adoption application, so that if you can no longer care for your dog or cat, your furry friend will have someone to speak up for them and and get them back to Young at Heart. We have a “Home for Life” policy here at Young at Heart, so no matter the reason, the pet you adopt from us can come back to us at any time, no matter their age. Our adopted pets are our family, and they can always come home.
Look for the “Heart to Heart” notation by each dog or cat to see if they qualify for this program.
