A look back at some of the fun stuff we’ve done around here!
As you know, events are a fun way to connect with other fans of grey muzzles and fundraisers are a great way to support our work! Some events are little, and some not so little, but whatever their size, they all help us rescue and rehome senior pets!
Pictures with Santa Paws & Bake Sale
Santa Paws came for a short visit from the North Pole to sit with some of our most photogenic supporters! Baked goodies provided by volunteers, as well as some fabulous stocking stuffers helped support the care of our senior pets! Thanks to Best Friends Pet Care for hosting this annual event once again!
Howl-o-ween Party
Participants had a howling good time at this year’s Howl-o-ween party. The event was attended by a crab, Yoda, a pirate, a bumblebee, a chicken, and Dracula, just to name a few! We played musical sit, went bobbing for hot dogs, had several winners in our howl-o-ween costume contests, and a fun time was had by all. Thanks to Chasin’ Our Tails for hosting this fun event for us!
Mutt Mosey Fundraiser Walk
Over $11,000 was raised for the seniors at Young at Heart by our wonderful participants and supporters! The weather held up for a nice mosey, and many of our adoptable dogs were there to participate as well! Our wonderful sponsors cheered on our walker, too!
Bow Wow Meow Luau
Our Bow Wow Meow Luau is a barking good time for our canine buddies and their families! Held at Best Friends Pet Care’s new dog park this year, the rain held for most of the event, but luckily we had the indoor camp area to play when the skies opened up! Games, prizes, and lots of fun were had by all!
Canine Cruise
Every year, Young at Heart boards the Star of Chicago for a fun-filled afternoon of Canine Crusin’ on the Chicago River and the Lakefront. A two hour cruise, complete with appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages, participants love to have their canine companions with them for this unique event!
