Donation FAQ
Q. Is my donation tax-deductible?
A. Yes, all donations are tax-deductible. Remember to enter your full address so that we can send you a receipt for your tax records. If you donate online via our Network for Good donation processor, you will receive a tax receipt from them indicating that the donation goes to Young at Heart Pet Rescue.
Q. Is my online donation secure and private?
Yes. Our online processor is a secure web page, meaning that the information you submit is encrypted before it is transmitted.
The information we collect will not be sold or given to any other organization. In accordance with our 501(c)3 IRS filing procedures, we must report basic information about donors who contribute more than $5000 in one fiscal year in our annual filing with the IRS.
Q. How will Young at Heart Pet Rescue use my donation?
A. Your contribution goes directly to the care and feeding of adoptable pets and sanctuary residents. Our fundraising activities, events, and outreach are handled entirely by volunteers and donors. We have one part time paid staff member for administrative activities and grant writing.
Q. How do I submit a memorial/honorarium/special occasion donation?
A. Select “Dedication” and the Donation Type (on behalf of, in honor of, in memory of). Then enter the name of the pet(s) or person(s) you are acknowledging. Be sure to check “Send Dedication Acknowledgment” so that you will be able to enter mailing information for the appropriate card.
Next, choose the appropriate card in the “Special Gift Donations” section. We will mail a custom card
Honorariums are a minimum $15 donation. We do include the amount donated on the cards unless you specify otherwise.
Q. Can I donate money to a specific program?
A. Currently, all contributions are to be used for our general fund to care for the animals. If you are interested in making a large donation that you would like to be ear-marked for our Sanctuary Fund, please contact us at 847-529-2025 or email us at info@yahpetrescue.com .
Q. I want to sponsor an animal. Can I do that here?
A. Yes! Choose whether you would like to sponsor an adoptable dog or cat for one month for a $50 donation. You will receive a card indicating the animal your donation has helped and a $50 tax deductible receipt. Or Choose to sponsor a Sanctuary Pet for a year for $200, and receive a certificate and your choice of our stuffed mascot “Peaches” (dog) or “Milo” (cat).
