Truffles

Posted 5-8-12
Truffles is a very sweet orange and white petite princess who is about 9 years old. She was rescued during a winter cold spell and brought to Preiser Animal Hospital near death. Dr. Preiser and her staff treated Truffles for a number of ailments, including frostbite, and she’s now at Heartland and on her way to a full recovery. She’s currently enjoying a special diet to help her along. Truffles is a trooper and has put her past behind. She’s looking for a quiet home and a warm bed. Could your home be the home Truffles is looking for?

Katy and Kaila

Posted 4-30-12
Kaila is a friendly, ten-year old grayish brown Boston terrier and beagle mix. Kaila and her littermate and sister Katy became homeless after their lifelong owner got sick and could no longer care for them. These good-humored girls come from a loving and nurturing background. It would be ideal for Kaila and Katy to be adopted together but the most important thing is that both girls are welcomed into loving homes, either together or separately. Kaila is described by her guardian as sweet, cuddly and laid-back. She enjoys hanging out with humans, relaxing on the couch and getting her belly rubbed. Kaila gets along well with everyone including cats, dogs and children. She currently sleeps in a crate with Katy and both sisters are well-behaved and housebroken. Kaila is an easy-going girl who would make a loyal companion.
Katy is a loveable, ten-year old black and white Boston terrier and beagle mix. Katy and her littermate and sister Kaila became homeless after their lifelong owner got sick and could no longer care for them. These sweet girls come from a loving and nurturing background. It would be ideal for Katy and Kaila to be adopted together but the most important thing is that both girls are welcomed into loving homes, either together or separately. Katy is described by her guardian as sweet, affectionate and playful. She romps around like a puppy and thoroughly enjoys getting spirited belly rubs. According to her guardian, Katy gets along well with “absolutely everybody” including cats, dogs and children. She currently sleeps in a crate with Kaila and both sisters are well-behaved and housebroken, although Katy may have an occasional accident when she gets excited or scared. Katy is sure to be a faithful, friendly companion and a special addition to your family.
The girls are still playful and active, as you can see from these action shot photos!
Katy and Kaila are at Animal Education and Rescue in Libertyville. To meet them, visit Katy’s page and Kaila’s page.
Sweet Pea

Postes 4-20-12
Meet Sweet Pea, an 11-year-old orange tabby. He is very affectionate, lovey-dovey people-person cat. He is also used to living with other cats and a dog. Sweet Pea is a neutered, declawed, indoor cat. His mommy can’t keep him because she has to go to assisted living due to a major car accident. Can you give Sweet Pea a loving home? Sweet Pea is in Bellville, IL, but transportation to meet half-way can be arranged if necessary.

Archie
(no photo available)
Archie is a senior cock-a-poo who is turning 15 in May. He is a medium sized dog (about 36 pounds), with beautiful soft white curly hair, a big fat pink nose, and mostly cocker with his big floppy ears. At present he has some arthritis, and sometimes gets ear infections. Otherwise, the vet says that he is a healthy dog – that all his organs are functioning normally. He has been neutered, and is a resident in Chicago.

Adorable Yogi is a 9 year old English Cocker Spaniel looking for his second change at a forever home! Yogi is so soft to pet and he loves just hanging out and getting pets. He enjoys running around and playing too. Yogi can sit like a perfect gentleman! Yogi’s favorite treat when he gets in from his walk is canned dog food on a spoon! He just wishes he had thumbs so he could help himself to more! Yogi is so cute ~ he likes to play fetch with his treats! Yogi would prefer to be the only dog at his new home so he can get all the attention.

Dusty and Tabby

Posted 3-6-12
Dusty (14 years old) and Tabby (8 years old) are two sweet, loving male cats looking for new homes, preferably together, because thier owner passed away. Both are neutered and declawed grey tabbys with gorgeous green eyes. Both have been to the vet this month and are healthy and up to date on their shots.
Dusty is somewhat shy in new situations. He is actually sweet and cuddly if approached quietly. He is a lap cat and loves affection, and is never aggressive in any way. He’s a very sweet kitty. Tabby is a little more social in new situations but is also in a bit of “shock” right now from losining his owner. They would do better in a home with no small children or dogs.
Too meet Dusty and Tabby, email Amy at jaras@wowway.com.
