In need of temporary housing ASAP.
My name is Thunder Cat. Though crazily named, I am an affectionate six year old spayed female who likes to cuddle. I am comfortable around other animals and children. I am looking for temporary housing while my Owner finds a new home. We were out placed by a fire and now that the house is finished being rebuilt we would like to sell it outright. In order to do that my owner needs to move in with her mom who is allergic to me. We are looking for a loving family to care for me until our housing arrangements can be settled.
Any interested parties can contact Dawn at 847-502-4390 or dawnhop1@hotmail.com.
Hi, I’m Rocky the cat! I am looking for quiet home that has no small children. Preferably older people. I am seven years old, very friendly, smart, and furry.
Rocky is currently being boarded at Jeffery House’s Vet in Hoffman Estates. Rocky has seven days to find a new home. If you can help, please contact Brian Salem at 517-392-2225.
Meet Ellie, a purebred German Shepherd who needs a new home.
Female German Shepherd * Saddleback * 87 lbs. * approx. 6 years old * has delivered at least 2 litters of puppies but has been spade recently * has an ID chip that will need to be updated * current vet visits * seems to have had some training and does respond to her name as well as commands * she is 95% housebroken (change in environment) * she hasn’t been exposed to cats but has lived with other dogs and seems to do better with dogs smaller than her – she likes to be in charge * might be better for her to be the only dog in the house * she has jumped our 4 ft. chain link when she sees another dog out for a walk, but only seems to be interested in sniffing them, then returns on call.
She has been around children on a minimal basis and has showed no signs of aggression towards them. In fact she was welcoming to their attention and allowed them to pet her. This is a very good dog who just needs to be with someone who can offer her the time and love she needs.
If you know of someone who might be interested, please contact Keith at 630-801-0777 or keith.rogers2@comcast.net.
Meet this dynamic duo, Calico Kitty and Hot Shot! This pretty pair need a new home because their mom broke her hip and can no longer take care of them. They are both 8 years old, spayed and up to date on their vaccines. Calico Kitty (female) is a little shy but very affectionate once she gets to know you. She looks much younger than her years. Hot Shot (male) is more assertive, and also super affectionate. They are used to being around other cats, and also small dogs. They currently are living in Maywood.
Hot Shot and Calico Kitty’s situation is rather urgent, so if you can help out, please contact Sarah at sewelsh@gmail.com.
Mistique is a very gentle and affectionate 9 year old young lady! She is sweet, cute and low-key. Mistique enjoys spending time hanging out and daydreaming about having her own home. We think she is overlooked by visitors because she doesn’t run up and greet them like some other kitties. She prefers to have visitors find her. Also, since she is a black cat, she has an even harder time getting noticed. Some people just don’t understand how awesome black cats are! Please stop by Heartland to meet Mistique. We know it will be love at first sight.

Meet Junior! Junior needs a new home since his mom went into a nursing home. He’s 16 years old and in very good health. He’s quiet, front paws declawed, neutered, and will be affectionate if he’s the only pet. Otherwise, he will find a quiet spot and keep to himself and let you know when he’s hungry. He always uses the litter box.
To meet Junior, please call Jackie at 847-687-0147 or email Jseter514@gmail.com.
A dog was brought into an animal clinic on a cold rainy morning, soaking wet and freezing, at the end of January (before picture). He then went to Joliet Township Animal Control where he would be held for a week to be claimed by his owner. Nobody came to claim him and, due to his age (approximately 10 – 12 yrs old), he probably would not be adopted, according to Animal Control. So, the kind people at the clinic took him out of Animal Control – for the time being.
Since then, he’s been neutered, had a growth removed from his foot and had his teeth cleaned. He is up to date on all of his Bordetella and Distemper vaccines, but he does still need his rabies vaccine. He will be micro-chipped before he goes to a new home, and he will have a year supply of Heartgard Plus.
He has been around two other labs, Rebel and Bear, and they get along great, however, he is not fond of the cats that live at the clinic. Rusty needs a new home with NO CATS, and most likely NO SMALL DOGS.
Because he does not do well with the cats at the clinic, Rusty has until the end of April to find a new home, or the clinic will have no option but to take him back to Joliet Township Animal Control.
Are there any lab lovers out there that can help? Please contact clinic employee Michael at 630-608-9572 or by email at michael.boerst@yahoo.com as soon as possible.
Millie is a 14-years-young Dachshund, and she needs a new home because her elderly mom is no longer well enough to take care of her properly. Millie was the only dog in her house, so she would prefer to be in new home with no other dogs, if possible. She is spayed and in good health, weighs about 14-15 pounds, and is currently living in Streamwood, IL.
To meet Millie, please contact Denise at djcb915@aol.com.
This is Marley, a neutered, male, pug/Chihuahua mix who is 7 years old this week. He is in excellent health and is current on all shots and comes with a supply of Heartgard and Confortis flea preventive. He is 18.5 lbs and is black with white on his chest and on the tips of his paws. He is very friendly to adults and other small dogs. He is not very fond of children however. Marley would love to be adopted by an older person or a retired couple.
He loves to go for walks or rides in the car (he has very good car manners and never tries to do the driving). He loves to play fetch with his toys and also loves to lie on the couch next to his “person” and watch TV. His energy level is fairly low since he is middle-aged. He would love to find a forever home and a loving place in your heart.
To meet Marley, please contact Betty at somerssister@sbcglobal.net.
What a dear, sweet lady! Truffles is a 10-year-old petite, four-paw declawed yellow/orange and white tabby who adores people and sitting on warm laps. She is good with older children and gets along with other cats, too. This senior feline still chases after laser pointer lights and enjoys playing with toy mice – there is quite a lot of spirit in this little gal! All Truffles needs is love, good food, and you! Please consider bringing this happy and delightful kitty into your home.
