Annie

Posted 3-12-14

Posted 3-12-14

Annie is a sweet 8 yr old collie mix. She’s well behaved and is friendly with everyone including dogs and children, however, would do best in a calm environment. She can be playful, but is just as content laying by your side -she was surrendered by her ‘Owners’ to a high kill shelter in Southern, IL, as they did not have ‘enough time’ for her.

She loves snuggling on the couch and just relaxing although she LOVES going on walks. We’ve noticed she has limited vision, but she does just fine listening to your voice. This angel didn’t deserve to get dumped at the pound for ANY reason. She would make a great companion for anyone looking for a mature, sweet and quiet dog. She weighs 65 lbs. and is up to date on vaccinations, etc.

If you would like to meet Annie, please go to our website at HopePetRescue.com and fill out an application.
Her adoption fee is $200 which covers her spay, microchip, vaccinations and vetting.

Suzy

Posted 3-6-14

Hello there, my name is Suzy and I am about 8 years old. I’m super sweet and love to hang out with my special person. I have not had a very good life until I came to the shelter. I was abandoned in the play yard of the shelter last year with my son and another dog. They have since been adopted and found their new forever homes. I would be a great companion for a senior person that just wants a cuddle buddy and a friend to spoil. I am current on my vaccinations,I have been spayed and also micro-chipped. Please consider me as your new family member. I would love you forever. Love, Suzy

To meet Suzie, contact Homeward Bound Pet Shelter in Decatur, IL at 217-876-1266 or HomewardBoundPetShelter02@yahoo.com.

Sadie

Sadie is an 11 year old Black Labrador Retriever. She is very healthy (all shots, vet review Nov. 2013) and is a wonderful companion. Good-natured, smart, loves to go for walks and no bad habits. She is not great with other dogs, however (just barks at them).

Sadie needs a new home due to a change in household composition and an allergy issue. She is located in Glenview, IL and is neutered. To meet Sadie, please contact Laura at laurappearl@gmail.com.

Blue and Sky

Posted 3-5-14

Posted 3-5-14

Blue and Sky have nowhere to go and who need an IMMEDIATE home, as the current owner can’t keep them. Sky (female) and Blue (male) are a bonded pair: 9 year old litter mates who have always been together. They are believed to be possible Jindo/Shiba/Husky mixes. Blue weighs about 45-50 pounds, Sky a little less. Both are neutered/spayed. Both are basically healthy, but Blue has a sty on his eye that will require a minor surgery.

If you have any questions or know anyone who will give both dogs a good home, PLEASE call 847-439-8196 or e-mail Rick or Nancy at NNLLBB@comcast.net.

Meet Tarzan! He’s a 9-years young, handsome, mellow and friendly AmStaff / American Bulldog mix who need a new home after being horribly neglected by his former person. Tarzan was left in a storage room with no windows and only a space heater for warmth! Luckily, a good Samaritan took Tarzan in and is now actively looking for a new home for him. Bobbie

Posted 2-25-14

Posted 2-25-14

Can someone out there open their hearts to a special needs kitty named Bobbie?

Bobbie is a 5 – 6 year old neutered male who loves to talk and follow you around. He is familiar with other cats. He has not been introduced to dogs, however with the proper introduction he would be fine. He is a muscular medium/large cat with a super soft coat. He is extremely gentle in nature and loves human companionship. He will jump up to be next to you the minute you sit down!

Here’s Bobbie’s story:
I was hit by a car (in Indiana). Right after I was hit by the car I was so startled I took off running and in my haste in choosing an escape route a board fell on me! My back was broken as a result of the two events. As a result of my previous injury (my broken back) I needed to regain my strength in my rear legs so that I could once again walk. I do walk and if I do say so myself my swagger is down right adorable! Sometimes my bottom tips over dragging on the ground for a short time before I get myself righted again and proceed walking on my merry way. I have been outfitted with a diaper and harnessing system. I only need to be changed twice a day. Each time I am changed my diaper is clean so my bladder needs to be expressed. Not to worry, this is a simple and easy process to learn. My foster Mom will show you how and supply you with the a few starter supplies.

Bobbie is in foster care (in a private home) with Finding Forever Homes in Streamwood, IL. Please contact them with any questions you may have or to make an appointment to see Bobbie or any of there other cats, all of which are in foster care in private homes. Contact Linda by email at ma300k@yahoo.com or phone at 630-837-3915.
