Cat Adoption Policy
Adoptable cats are available for general viewing at Best Friends Pet Care during their business hours. “Go Home” adoption appointments are made only on application approval. Please note that Best Friends Pet Care is not responsible for processing adoptions, and an appointment MUST be made with a Young at Heart adoption counselor once your application is approved.
Adoption fee for cats: $55
Adoption fee is waived for a second cat if you adopt a pair!
Your companion will already be spayed or neutered, tested negative for FIV & Feline Leukemia, given all veterinarian recommended vaccines including a 1 year Rabies Vaccine, a 24PetWatch microchip, a senior wellness chemistry panel, and 30 days of free ShelterCare pet insurance. Many of our adoptable companions also receive dental procedure, a lumpectomy, and many other procedures necessary to get your canine companion ready for adoption! Any known medical or behavioral conditions are listed.
All of our adoptable companions come with a 14-day Money Back Guarantee.

Hi. I’m Anya, and if you are looking for a petite little sweetie pie, here I am! I love to greet new people as they come to visit the kitties, and I am always hopeful that someone will swing that feather around for me- those are SO much fun! I’m a big fan of catnip, too! I’m great with my litter box, and I am healthy and ready to go home! Being a black kitty that is 10 years old makes it hard for me to find a home, despite how sweet and beautiful I am. If you like underdogs, than I’m your girl! I get along with most kitties, so I’d be ok with your kitty or another one of my buddies from here at the adoption center. Won’t you come out to play with me?

Maximus
Hi there! I’m Maximus, also known as Max. I am a big guy who has a lot of love to give, and I can’t wait to show my new family just how big this kitty’s heart is! I am about 7 years old, and really enjoy being doted on! I get along well with other kitties, especially my pal, Tippy. See, we’re from the same house, kicked out when our guardians decided they no longer had time for us. I promise, we aren’t that much trouble! We’re good with our litterboxes, like to snuggle up with each other, and like to play. I love to be brushed and petted, and enjoy a good game of feather chasing like my pal Tippy! I’m a big guy, but that just means more love for you! I can’t wait to find a family who knows that pets aren’t disposable, and though it’s not required, I would love it if I could stay with my buddy,Tippy. We’ve been through a lot together, and we’re the only family that hasn’t let us down so far. We know there is a family out there that will love us both. Are you our new family?

Oreo
Hi there! I’m Oreo, a very sweet and friendly 10 year old kitty. The rescue is amazed at my cute little personality, because when I first arrived from the pound, I was scared and hid in the corner. As soon as I realized that I wasn’t at another pound, but in a wonderful place full of love and comfortable kitty things, I got over that fear very quickly, and became the honorary greeter of all visitors, and taker of all treats! I love to rub up against your legs, purr to show you just how happy I am, and am even cool with being held! I like kids a whole bunch, and love love love people. I’m working things out with the other kitties here at the adoption center, and would be fine with one or two other mellow cats. I am good with my litterbox and healthy, and am also a 4-paw declaw kitty. Won’t you please come meet me and take me home?

Precious
Hi! I’m Precious, and I am a beautiful and shy 13 year old girl who lost her home when my mommy lost hers. I was lucky enough to come to Young at Heart, but I miss the quietness of my house, the days snuggling on the couch, and many less kitties to share my room with! I am a quiet girl, who is very good with her litter box. I love to sound all tough when you meet me for the first time, but as soon as you start petting me, you know I’m all talk. My rescue friends laugh at me when I talk all grumpy. I love my treats and love to be brushed gently while you talk to me. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I came to Young at Heart, and despite treatments, I did not respond, so I embarked on a journey to become Young at Heart’s first “Radiocat”. I had my thyroid radiated at RadioCat on 2/22, and you can follow my journey as my hypothyroidism is cured on Young at Heart’s blog very soon. I am ready for my forever home, leaving all thyroid medications behind, and simply giving you a silly, healthy senior cat as my companion. You are welcome to help the rescue pay for my treatment by sponsoring me, too! I have been waiting so long for a home of my own, won’t you please see past my grumpy talk and discover the sweet girl behind that actress?

Hi there! I’m Stoli, a very cute and petite little girl. I am about 13 years old, and weigh only 5 lbs. I may be small, but I’m mighty! Please excuse my bedraggled look in these photos- I had just had a bath, and was still a bit wet- and I prefer to do battle with a brush than to be beautified by one! I am a very sweet girl, but I also have a little attitude that is endearing and funny, especially since I’m so small. Hey, I don’t let you push me around, even if you are bigger than me! I am good with my litterbox, am a great eater, and am a healthy girl. I am also a 4-paw declaw, so your furniture is safe with me! I can’t wait to find my forever home!
